Pounamu Jade Aikman, Harvard University

Pounamu Jade Aikman is a Māori scholar in the History Department at Harvard University. His research is broadly focused on the clash between Indigenous sovereignty and settler state violence, and explores the discursive and physical weapons deployed by settler states to undermine Indigenous sovereignties and quarantine Indigenous peoples. He is currently exploring this theme in a postdoctoral project across the Aotearoa, US and Hawaiian contexts.
